Itinerary
First day: Departure for Bobo-Dioulasso, the economic capital of Burkina. On the road, we will stop in Bazoulé to visit the sacred crocodiles. Back on the road, we will have lunch in Boromo. Just before arriving in Bobo, there is a possibility of visiting the village of Koro which is perched on a rocky hilltop. Continuing on to Bobo, you will check into the hotel, relax and have dinner.
Second Day: After breakfast, you will visit Bobo-Dioulasso and then depart for Banfora. In Banfora, you will visit the town, the Karfiguela waterfalls and then head to Sindou, about 50 kms form Banfora where we will explore the “Peaks of Sindou.” After a picnic lunch we will return to Banfora for the night.
Third Day: After breakfast, we will head to Gaoua, stopping in the villages of Loropeni and Obire to meet with some of the Gan people. The Gan live totally isolated from the exterior world and still live in a traditional way. In Loropeni, there are ruins of an unknown fort. After a picnic lunch on the road, we will continue to Gaoua and check into the hotel for a relaxing evening and dinner.
Fourth Day: After breakfast, we will visit the Poni museum where you can learn about the Lobi culture. We will then head to Diébougou where we will stop and visit a German fort dating back to World War I.
We will leave Diébougou for Ouagadougou with a rest stop in Sabou before continuing on to the capital.
