Itinerary

First day:  Ouagadougou – Bobo-Dioulasso
Departure for Bobo. 
On the way, we will stop at Bazoulé to see the sacred crocodiles and also at Boromo for lunch where there is a possibility of seeing elephants. Just before arriving at Bobo-Dioulasso, there will be one short stop to visit the village of Koro, perched on a rocky hilltop.  And finally, to Bobo-Dioulasso and check-in at the hotel. A relaxing evening and dinner await you there.

Second Day:  After breakfast, we will visit the city of Bobo-Dioulasso (the mosque, the old quarter called Dioulassoba, and the train station with its famous Sudanese architecture).   Afterwards, we will head towards Banfora where we will check into the hotel and have lunch.  In the afternoon, we will take a tour of the Karfiguela waterfalls and the rock domes in Fabedougou.   We’ll head back to Banfora and go through the sugar cane fields. Finally, dinner and a relaxing evening.

Third  Day:  Banfora – Ouagadougou
An early breakfast and departure for Sindou located about 50 kms from Banfora to discover the “Peaks of Sindou”.  After exploring the Peaks, we will go to Kawara, a potters’ village where you will have the chance to see the artisans making a variety of objects from clay.   We’ll return to Banfora for lunch and then leave for Bobo-Dioualsso in the afternoon.  After checking into the hotel, we will have a relaxing evening and dinner.

Fourth Day:  Bobo-Dioulasso – Djenné
Breakfast and departure for Djenné in Mali.   There will be a stop in Faramana for the necessary exit papers and a stop in Kouri for the entry formalities in Mali.  Then we will continue on to Djenne through Koutiala. We will have lunch in San and arrive later in Djenne and check into the camp.  We’ll have enough time for a visit of the town and the Nana Wangara well.   Dinner and good night’s sleep will follow.

Fifth Day:  Djenné – Mopti
Breakfast and then a visit of Djenné and its historic monuments such as the Central Mosque and the tomb of Tapama Djénepo, a young virgin girl from the Bozo ethnic group who was imprisoned and to whom the town owes its prosperity since the 16th century.
Next, we will head to Mopti and have lunch at the Térédemé restaurant created by the Association of Single Mothers of Mopti.  In the afternoon, we will visit the Komoguel mosque the river port and have refreshments at the Bozo bar where you can watch the Bozo fishermen.

A relaxing evening and dinner.

Sixth Day : Mopti – Sangha
After breakfast, we will depart for the Dogon Country (Sangha is the departure point for all the tours) and pass through Bandiagara which is the administrative capital of the Dogon Country.

Once in Sangha, we will check into the hotel and visit the Dogon villages.  We’ll have dinner and sleep at the hotel.

Seventh Day:  Sangha -Ouagadougo
After breakfast, we will begin the trip back to Ouagadougou passing through the villages of Banani, Tirelli, and Endé where we will have lunch.  Back on the road, we will have a short stop in Bankass where we will visit the town and have refreshments.  Continuing on to Ouagadougou, we will do the exit formalities in Koro in Mali and in Thiou in Burkina. In Ouahigouya, we will visit the town and then continue on to Ouagadougou.
