Itinerary

First day:  Upon your arrival at the airport in Ouagadougou, you will receive a traditional Burkinabe welcome d then taken to your hotel.

Second Day:  After breakfast, we will visit the city of Ouagadougou, the historic monuments, the national museum and the Arts and Crafts Village.   We’ll go back to the hotel for lunch and a rest.

In the afternoon, we will leave for the Manega museum and then return to Ouagadougou for a relaxing evening and dinner.

Third Day: We will leave for Bobo-Dioulasso, the second largest city in Burkina that also goes by the name Sya. On the way, we will stop in Bazoulé, the village of the sacred crocodile. We will have lunch at the Relais de Boromo and then continue on to Bobo-DIoulasso.  There will be one short stop to visit the village of Koro, perched on a rocky hilltop.  And finally, to Bobo-Dioulasso and check-in at the hotel. A relaxing evening and dinner await you there.

Fourth Day:  After breakfast, we will visit the city of Bobo-Dioulasso (the mosque, the old quarter called Dioulassoba, and the central market.   Back to the hotel for lunch and a siesta.  In the afternoon, we will visit the town’s museum.  Finally, a relaxing evening and dinner.

Fifth Day:  After breakfast, we will head west towards Banfora where we will have lunch.  In the afternoon, we will take a tour of the Karfiguela waterfalls and the rock domes in Fabedougou.   We’ll head back to Banfora for the evening and dinner.

Sixth Day: After breakfast, we will explore the “Peaks of Sindou” and the Senoufo villages.  There will be a picnic lunch during the day and we’ll be back in Banfora for dinner and a good night’s rest.

Seventh Day:  After breakfast, we will begin the trip to Gaoua with stops in Loropeni and in a Gan village which is totally isolated from the external world where the people still live as they have for generations. We’ll have a picnic lunch and continue on to Gaoua and check into a hotel.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Poni museum, the local market, and some Lobi villages.  Upon return to the hotel, we will have a relaxing evening and dinner.

Eighth Day:   After breakfast, we will be back on the road to Pô with a stop in Diebougou to visit an old unknown fort and continue towards Léo for a picnic lunch and visit of the town and near by villages. We will arrive in Pô and check in to the hotel.  There will be a relaxing afternoon with a visit to the Nahouri Peak followed by dinner.

Ninth Day:   After breakfast, we will go to the Nazinga Ranch and check into the hotel.  In the park, we will have a safari and a picnic lunch.  In the afternoon, we will return to the hotel and dinner.

Tenth Day:  After breakfast, we will head to Tiebélé to see the colourful Gourounsi architecture.  After a picnic lunch, we will return to Ouagadougou  for the evening and dinner.

Eleventh Day:   After breakfast, we will go to Dori, the big city of the north.  On the way, we will stop in Kaya to see how the artisans work with leather and bronze.   After lunch there, we’ll continue the road to Dori with a stop in Bani to visit the famous mosques of Bani.

We will arrive in Dori in the evening and check into the hotel and have dinner.

Twelfth Day: After breakfast, we will visit the town of Dori and some of the famous sites and then head to Gorom-Gorom. After checking into a hotel, having lunch and a rest, we will visit the town and discover the Touareg people.   We’ll return to the hotel in the afternoon for dinner.

Thirteenth Day: After breakfast, we will start the trip to Kongoussi, known as the “Green Bean Town” of Burkina.  There will be one stop in Arbinda for refreshments before continuing on to Djibo for lunch and a short rest. We will reach Kongoussi in the afternoon where we will check into a hotel and have a relaxing evening.

Fourteenth Day:    After breakfast, we will visit the green bean fields and then start the trip back to Ouagadougou.  A picnic lunch is planned with arrival in Ouagadougou in the afternoon.
