Located about 30 kms from Ouagadougou, you can discover a small lake inhabited by 100 crocodiles that live side by side with the villagers. You will be amazed at the relationships between the villagers and the crocodiles and will even be able to watch the villagers feed them.
The crocodile is sacred because, according to the legend, whenever an old crocodile dies or is killed, an elder from the village will also die.
So, come visit the traditions and marvels of Burkina.

In southern Burkina, in the heart of Gourounsi country, you can discover a magnificent local architecture. Fortified farms where the different huts are nestled together with outdoor stairways leading to the rooftop terraces. The houses are brilliantly painted and decorated by the women. You can also visit the house of the Explorer Binger in Tiakane.
Lunch at Po with a visit to the town. Return to Ouagadougou in the afternoon.

Nazinga ranch

You will have to get up early to catch the ride to Po to visit a game reserve about 200 kms from Ouagadougou. 940 km², Nazinga is home to aquatic and land animals, some of which you may have never heard of (cobs, ourébis, hypodragues , bubales) and some which are familiar (elephants, monkeys, and wild boar). You will have lunch at the ranch and then return to Ouagadougou in the afternoon.

You will need two days to take advantage of this wildlife reserve, not too far from Ouagadougou with about 600 kms of trails. Our driver and a Park guide will take you through the bush to observe antelopes, gazelles, monkeys, and, of course, elephants. If you are lucky, you may even see buffalo.
In terms of flora, you will see baobab trees, “caicédras” and gigantic “fromagers” which invite the animals to enjoy their siestas in their shade.
You will be housed and fed at the Ranch. On the second day, you will return to Ouagadougou after lunch and have a short stopover in the Gourounsi region to visit the unique traditional houses.

All aboard for Manega and its “bendrologie” (Talking drums) museum. Lunch at a restaurant in Kongoussi, near the Bam Lake and then a visit to the town of Kaya through a hilly countryside. A short stopover at the Dem Lake for a traditional canoe ride. At the end of the afternoon, you will arrive at the Hotel Kaziende.
On the second day, you can visit the local gold mine in Manne. Whenever the agricultural work lessons a bit, the men, women and children are all engaged in the search for small gold nuggets in caves and tunnels reaching more than 50 metres deep! This is the African version of the “Gold Rush”.
You will be able to work side by side with the local welders. Traditionally these iron workers are much more than just artisans. They are guardians of the traditions, masters of the rain, and protectors of the village community.
After lunch, you will visit the market and the leather artisans. Then, it will be time to return to Ouagadougou with a brief stopover at Loango to visit the unique granite sculptures. You will arrive at Ouagadougou at the end of the afternoon

You will begin with a tour of the city with the old mosque and the traditional village of Dioulassoba situated near the city centre. Then, you will visit the Mausoleum of Guimbi Ouattara, an important historical figure of Burkina Faso.
In the afternoon, you can go to Dafra to visit the sacred catfish in a hilly area full of customs and traditions of the Bobo people. You will return to Bobo to enjoy Bobo-by-night.

Tour the city; visit the old mosque and the village of Dioulassoba. Then, discover the museum and take a short trip to the “Guinguette”, a natural forest reserve where you can enjoy a tropical forest mini-environment. A picnic lunch and then return to Bobo in the afternoon.

All aboard for Koumi, a village with stone architecture with the color of the red earth. This authentic Bobo village is one of the most visited architectural sites in Burkina. The village of Koro, perched on top of a granite hill, offers some wonderful views of the area.

Visit the town of Banfora and continue on to the waterfalls in Karfiguela and the rock domes of Fabedougou. The next stop is Sindou, located 50 kms from Banfora to visit the amazing landscapes of the “Peaks of Sindou”. A picnic lunch will be offered and you will return to Bobo-Dioulasso in the afternoon.

First day: Leave for Banfora where you will visit the town and continue on to the waterfalls in Karfiguela and the rock domes of Fabedougou. Continue on to Sindou, about 50 kms from Banfora, to visit the dramatic “Peaks of Sindou”. A picnic lunch will be offered and in the afternoon you will go to Tengrela to enjoy a lake side dinner and will have lodging for the night.
Second Day: An early departure to visit the hippos in the lake then return for breakfast, rest and, if you would like, some quiet fishing from a canoe.
After lunch and a siesta, you will leave for Bobo-Dioulasso in the afternoon.
